Reporting to the Director of Labour Relations and Human Resources, the Human Resources Business Partner provides support and advice to several client groups to help them achieve their individual business objectives. The incumbent will also work with the HR team to develop and implement a full scope of HR programs across the business out of Edmonton, AB. The Human Resources Business Partner must be adaptable and thrive on helping clients solve problems and align with business goals and objectives. The individual must be able to multi-task and have a strong ability to build relationships with their client groups. This is a 6 month contract with the possibility of extension. Key Responsibilities & Requirements
Supports effective employee/labor relations activities by maintaining a strong focus on people, and customer service, as well as having a sound knowledge of collective agreements, employment terms and relevant employee/labour legislation.
Provides general human resource support to the operating management of client groups, including employee relations, performance management, attendance and disability management, progressive discipline, terminations, ethical or harassment concerns, and conflict resolution.
Works as a partner with client groups in the areas of Talent Management, Organizational Design, Change Management, Workforce Planning and Analysis.
Assists Operations and employees in interpreting and applying policies and procedures and communicates new policies and procedures to client groups.
Ability to travel to remote sites, as required.
Provides full cycle recruiting services for client groups, as required.
Manages the hiring process to ensure paperwork and orientation completion to set the new hire up for success in their new career.
Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a combination of education and experience may be considered
CPHR (or actively working towards) designation would be an asset.
Valid Class 5 driver\xe2\x80\x99s license and ability to meet company driving conditions.
Experience:
5+ years experience as a Human Resources Generalist with full cycle HR exposure, including employee/labour relations.
Previous experience in an advisory capacity within a unionized environment, including collective agreement interpretation / application and grievance handling.
Experience with seniority-based collective agreements, specifically with layoff and recall procedures.
Proven ability to build strong working relationships, internal and external to the organization.
Strong facilitation, conflict resolution and investigation skills.
Workforce planning experience would be an asset.
Experience creating, implementing and/or facilitating training programs to employees and management would be an asset.
Proficient in MS Office suite of programs, noteably with MS Excel & Word.
Experience with Sharepoint, JD Edwards and/or SAP SuccessFactors would be an asset.
Understanding of the oil and gas economy and current recruiting and economic trends in Alberta and British Columbia is an asset.
