CancerCare Manitoba is the provincial cancer authority in Manitoba. We provide clinical and academic services and leadership for cancer control and the treatment of blood disorders.

The Role:

The Human Resources Associate is responsible for the day to day delivery of human resources services including but not limited to; recruitment & selection, employee engagement and development, attendance management, and HR reporting. They will be responsible for the departments reporting actives and support the analysis of data related to HR initiatives and special projects.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Offer HR excellence and lead hiring managers through their recruitment efforts which can include; updating position profiles, develop advertising strategy, applicant screening, coordinating interviews, reference checking, and advising on initial offers.
  • Welcome new employees by coordinating & facilitating CCMB\'s corporate orientation.
  • Assist with training and development including participating in planning of events, booking venues, notifying staff, coordinating technology, arranging refreshments, requirements and tracking attendance.
  • Assist the HR team in updating relevant policies, procedures, and forms as required.
  • Support the HR team and leadership through reporting on various business metrics.

Qualifications:

Required:

Level of Formal Education & Experience
  • Certificate or diploma in Human Resources Management or Labour Relations from a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • Minimum 2 years\' experience in a unionized environment performing a broad range of Human Resource functions including; employee relations, labour relations, recruitment and selection.
An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent active listening and superior customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and assignments.
  • Ability to handle the confidential aspects of this position with discretion and professionalism.
  • Ability to use critical thinking and sound judgement to solve problems.
Other
  • Must have satisfactory employment record.
  • Must be legally able to work in Canada.
Preferred:
  • CPHR designation or working towards.
  • Experience working in a health care environment.
  • Experience working with QHR, SAP, Success Factors.
  • Ability to speak French.
Salary: $55,319.81 - $66,138.45

Work Location: 675 McDermot Ave.
