Reporting to the Manager of HR Services, the Human Resources Associate is accountable for providing administrative support to HR staff in addition to coordinating staff events, responding to general inquiries, processing and tracking expenditures, processing employee information, tracking employee changes and sourcing supplies and other duties as may be assigned.
Job Duties Include
Develops and manages employment files for all employees, including tracking and filing all related recruitment, payroll, and other employment documents.
Provides front-line support by responding to general employee and external inquiries in a timely manner.
Coordinates, organizes, and prepares for annual employee events such as Take Your Kids to Work Day, Long Service Recognition Awards, Food Truck event, Flu Shot Clinics, etc.
Promotes the Town and career opportunities through job fairs attended throughout the year, providing information on the Town, opportunities, how to apply, etc.
Fulfills employment verification requests and prepares employment verification letters for all employees.
Supports the HR recruitment process as required including, but not limited to, scheduling interviews and practical testing, candidate document verification, payroll information reporting and employee number assignment.
Coordinates the data entry process for all new hires and employee information changes in the HRIS and tracking spreadsheets, ensuring all information is accurate and correct and produces relevant employee information reports on an as needed basis.
Develop new employee resources including training modules, presentations and supporting resources.
Qualifications/Skills
Diploma in a Community College program in Human Resources or a related discipline is required.
1 to 2 years' experience in an office environment performing administrative duties, preferably in Human Resources.
Advanced technical and computer skills with attention to detail and accuracy and proficiency in Microsoft and Adobe platforms.
Strong technical problem-solving skills.
Expert knowledge and technical skills working with Microsoft Excel.
Strong organization skills.
Ability to communicate with a diverse group of people.
Nice to Have
Membership in HRPAO or OMHRA or ability to apply for membership is an asset.
What is Offered to Staff
Rate of Pay
: $34.18 - $42.73 per hour.
Hours of Work
: This is a non-union position that works 35 hours per week. The hours of work are Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
