Human Resources Assistant (Casual - 12 Month Term)

Alberta Innovates is seeking a Human Resources Assistant to provide casual support (12 to 15 hours per week) for recruitment, administrative functions, file management, and other HR projects as required.

The successful incumbent will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
  • Provide support in executing the day-to-day Human Resources services, with a focus on supporting the Senior Recruitment Specialist with full cycle recruitment activities.
  • Schedule meetings, book rooms, coordinate events and catering, as required. i.e. Career Fairs
  • Provide data entry support for HR administration.
  • Ensure all department records, paper, and electronic files are set up, maintained, and closed in accordance with established records management procedures.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements for the HR Team and external candidates as required.
  • Support continuous improvement projects and works with team members to streamline processes and enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications:
  • High degree of professionalism and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong attention to detail, proof-reading, and editing skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, set priorities, and work under pressure to meet multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to take initiative, look for things to do, and suggest improvements.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Collaboration skills with the ability to work in a team environment or independently.
  • Flexible and adaptable to a dynamic and changing environment.
  • Intermediate-level MS Office skills.
  • Knowledge of using LinkedIn recruiter
  • Diploma in Business Administration or related field would be considered an asset.
  • 1+ years of recruitment in a corporate setting or related experience would be considered an asset.
