Our Energy and Resources Division has an exciting new opportunity to join the Sodexo team as our next Human Resources & Employee Relations Advisor for our Remote Site Lodge in Northern BC. This role will require you to work with a rotation of 14 days at site in Kitimat, BC with a 7 day rotation home. Sodexo offers a competitive salary, paid flights and transportation to site as well as all lodgings at site. This role is a six (6) month contract opportunity. In this fast paced role you will support onsite Human Resources as well as meet required operational needs. You will work with report to the HR Manager, Western Canada. You will leverage your excellent technical software, analytical, skills to assist the team in a variety of HR/LR functions. Your experience working within unionized environments is a strong asset for this role as well as some experience working with Indigenous communities. How You’ll Make an Impact:

  • Coordinates, and maintains Employee and Labor Relations policies and procedures with the guidance from the Regional HR Manager;
  • Acts as onsite Employee and Labour Relations support function in all other office related duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Regional HR Manager, and the Operations team;
  • Maintains, and coordinates records for Employee and Labour Relations related matters;
  • Providing administrative support to the Regional HR Manager, and as required to the Operations team;
  • Acts as liaison, coordinator for onsite Operations teams and upon request to the client LR team with the guidance from the Regional HR Manager;
  • from the onsite site team and the Regional HR Manager;
  • Assist, and coordinates in administration of site requirements (Functional Fitness Evaluation, Drug tests) as required with the guidance from the onsite HR Manager and the Regional HR Manager;
  • Assist, and coordinates onsite training and onboarding of front-line employees with the guidance from the Regional HR Manager;
  • Supports, coordinates employee retention and engagement through established processes with integrated efforts from various functions with the guidance from the onsite HR Manager and the Regional HR Manager;
  • Performs all other Employee Relations duties as assigned.


Qualifications
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
  • Minimum of 2 - 5 years in Human Resources
  • Experience in LR environment an asset with a minimum of 2 years experience with employee relations/LR is a very strong asset
  • Experience in a unionized and multi-site operation an asset
  • University Degree or College diploma or combination of Education and Experience
  • CPHR or CHRM an asset but not required
  • Previous experience in a hospitality or service provider environment is an asset
  • Ability to work effectively in situations involving rapid change, shifting priorities, and/or simultaneous demands.
  • Ability to develop new and maintain existing relationships with stakeholders.
  • Comfortable collaborating and working in a remote team environment
