Position Overview
About the Role
==================
Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the HR Advisor provides a full range of generalist HR services to several operational business units. You will:
Advise General Managers and managers on employee and labour relations, including grievances, attendance and disability management, and disciplinary matters.
Lead recruitment and selection for both unionized and exempt positions.
Manage labour relations issues, including leading workplace investigations, resolving grievances, and collective agreement interpretations.
Provide expertise and guidance on performance management, health and safety, job classifications, compensation, and employee engagement.
Build and maintain effective working relationships with union and management representatives to support a collaborative approach.
Ensure compliance with labour laws, relevant policies, and collective agreements.
Support HR projects and programs in areas such as wellness, benefits and pension administration, organizational development, and equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility.
Qualifications
==================
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of progressive HR generalist experience, preferably in a unionized public sector setting.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation is an asset.
Excellent relationship-building skills, sound judgment, and the ability to navigate sensitive and complex HR issues in a unionized environment.
