We are currently recruiting for a self-motivated and experienced Human Resource Advisor with excellent organizational and interpersonal skills to work at our Sitka Loge located in Kitimat, British Columbia. The successful candidate will advise on human resource needs, and report directly to the Human Resources Manager, as a member of the HR team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide general human resource support to operating management of the Lodges, including employee relations, performance management, attendance, progressive discipline, terminations, ethical or harassment concerns and conflict resolution.
  • Support effective employee/labour relations activities by maintaining a strong focus on customer service, knowledge of the collective agreement, employment terms and relevant employee/labour legislation.
  • Assist operating management and employees in interpreting and applying corporate policies and procedures.
  • Orientate new staff to ensure proper paperwork is filled out and company information is communicated.
  • Ensure all new information regarding human resources is communicated effectively to all staff.
  • Establish a positive and trustworthy relationship with managers and employees.
  • Support full cycle recruitment for all hourly positions.
  • Other duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Post- secondary education in Human Resources, or equivalent combination of education & experience
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience as an HR Generalist
  • Labour relation experience a must
  • General working knowledge of Employment Standards, Labour Relations, Human Rights, WCB, Benefits, Apprenticeship, Training
  • Exemplary written and verbal communication skills
  • Work well under pressure
  • Demonstrate multi-tasking, detail orientation, time management and organization skill sets
  • Strong facilitation and conflict resolution skills
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Must have a valid driver\'s license, with a 5-year driving record satisfactory to Civeo\'s driving criteria.
