Human Resources Advisor

Salary: Typical hiring range for this position is $70,000 - $100,000 depending on level of experience
Schedule: Compressed Work Week (9-hour dayshifts, every other Friday off)
YOUR ROLE
Reporting to the HR Manager, you will be responsible for the full spectrum of human resources activities. As an integral part of the Human Resources department, you will provide human resources expertise and assistance in recruitment and staffing, labour relations, organization effectiveness, compensation, performance management and feedback, employee relations, support of the policies and strategies and tasks involved in administration of employee programs and services.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide advice, guidance and assistance on human resources practices and programs.
  • Work with line managers to establish recruitment requirements, manage and participate in the full cycle of the recruitment process.
  • Conduct recruitment efforts locally to find key talent and build bench strength, including partnering with local universities to strengthen Kruger's brand and recruitment efforts.
  • Investigate and resolve employee relations issues, coach managers through performance management and employee concerns while maintaining confidentiality, consistency and sensitivity.
  • Investigate workplace complaints and provide timely, clear communication of findings and outcomes to stakeholders.
  • Interpret and administer the terms of collective agreement.
  • Develop and maintain a positive partnership with union leadership to ensure sustainable business operations and results.
  • Manage grievance process for the site.
  • Participate in Diversity & Inclusion programs and foster positive partnerships with Indigenous communities.
  • Responsible for our talent management strategies and effort and our diversity plans.
  • Ensure that all compensation strategies are properly implemented and managed and that a balance between external competitiveness, internal alignment and employee contribution is maintained.
  • Develop and maintain a professional relationship with employees by ensuring a sense of confidentiality, mutual trust, concern, respect and teamwork.
  • Maintain compliance with federal and provincial regulations concerning employment.
  • Manages local records and reporting.
  • Successfully complete all other duties and assigned projects necessary to support plant operations.
YOUR SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Confident communicator at all levels of organization including listening, writing and presenting.
  • Change agent with the ability to collaborate well with others.
  • Business partner/ generalist approach to human resources.
  • Experience in a unionized environment.
  • Strong problem solving & analytical skills, excellent judgment and confidentiality.
  • Proven organization skills ability to prioritize effectively and manage multiple tasks in an environment with competing demands.
  • Exceptional coaching skills with proven ability to coach varying levels of the operation.
  • Known for your learning abilities and interest in acquiring new skills.
  • Possess a friendly and positive demeanor and professional image.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare clear, comprehensive, and well?structured reports.
  • Strong labour relations expertise, including case law interpretation, knowledge of the legal landscape, and research skills.
  • Experience with HRIS platforms (e.g., JDE, Empower, Taleo) is considered an asset.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5+ years of experience in a Human Resources role, preferably in an unionized environment.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a Major in Human Resources and/or equivalent.
  • A strong computer system aptitude and ease working with various type of software including Microsoft Office Suite products.
  • CPHR designation preferred.
