We work closely with funeral homes, hospitals, Police Services, the Office of the Chief Coroner of Ontario and other institutions to ensure seamless and compassionate service. We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Human Remains Transportaion Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the removal and transportation of deceased human remains from various locations, ensuring the utmost respect and care throughout the process.

Availability Requirements:



Weekend, midnights, evenings and day shift availability. Submit availability and hours on time to administration. Be available and respond to calls during the whole duration of your on call scheduled shift, understanding you may go past your on call scheduled shift while working.

Key Responsibilities:



Arrive at the office or meeting location 30 minutes after receiving a call. Provide professional transfer services to clients, the Office of the Chief Coroner of Ontario, and funeral homes, hospitals mainly but not exclusive to the Niagara Region by adhering to all company policies, as provided by the company. Ensure professional work attire when serving clients. Dress pants must be long enough to cover boots. As a passenger in work vehicles, complete all necessary paperwork and job forms in the Jobber App for each call, as well as uploading photos of documentation. Use a phone to call ahead to facilities where staff are required to meet you at the location. Use reference binder to obtain access information (key # and codes). As a driver, ensure safe transportation of the decedent and team, driving responsibly without distractions. Enter and exit destination locations professionally and adhere to client security expectations. Communicate respectfully, and professionally with teammates. Ensure a safe and non-toxic work environment through effective communication and constructive feedback. Alternate driving and other roles such as loading/unloading stretchers, handling paperwork, and communicating with families to properly divide and share workload. Minimize wait times without compromising service quality. Maintain and clean equipment after each call. Ensure transfer vehicles are properly stocked with all necessary equipment and PPE, fueled, and washed as needed at the end of your shift to ensure the next crew using the van is not delayed in their response time. Report all workplace accidents, harassment, discrimination and health and safety concerns to Health and Safety, Supervisor or Management.

Additional Duties:



Answer the dispatch phone and assist with dispatching calls when necessary. Answer the office phone if Administration Staff are unavailable, take messages, and forward them to the Administration. Submit van's visa receipts promptly. Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of work vehicles, including vacuuming and cleaning carpets. Notify Administration Staff of low stock of PPE or equipment. Perform other duties as assigned by management or supervisory staff.
