Position Purpose summary:
The HRBPs execute the HR strategy, tailoring solutions to Divisional / MU needs, deliver mission partner solutions and programs at the MU-level and support performance management and mission partner cycles. They also support leaders with specialized HR advice and collaborate with the Service Centre on escalated inquiries and transactions.
Key AccountabilitiesCollaborate with senior leadership to align HR strategies with organizational goals, communicate policies effectively, suggest improvements, and track strategic effectiveness using key metrics.
Support job description creation by working with leaders and using standardized tools/templates, ensuring all roles are documented accurately in Workday.
Facilitate the performance cycle by communicating timelines, supporting improvement plans, and analyzing data to evaluate effectiveness and link performance to compensation.
Address employee concerns, liaise with Healthy Workplace CoE for collective bargaining prep, and interpret new CBA terms to ensure accurate implementation.
Collaborate with the CoE on mediation/arbitration strategies, manage grievance processes, and store related documentation for compliance and reference.
Ensure adherence to employment laws and regulations, manage misconduct and non-compliance cases, and support leaders in determining and recording corrective actions.
Assist with investigations into employee misconduct and complaints by gathering evidence, documenting cases, and communicating outcomes with key stakeholders.
Provide guidance to leaders on appropriate disciplinary actions, document decisions, and monitor outcomes to ensure fair and consistent application.
Evaluate training needs, coordinate delivery with Tier 2A teams, and review post-training feedback to enhance onboarding and employee development efforts.
Act as a key partner across all HR functions, ensuring smooth execution of policies, investigations, and programs while maintaining records and stakeholder communication.
Education and Experience QualificationsCompletion of a university degree in social sciences, human resources, or related field
Completion or working towards completion of valid HR designation (i.e., CPHR)
Minimum 5 years progressive experience in a human resources generalist role
Strong understanding of relevant employment laws and regulations, including ESA, OHSA, WSIA, and the Human Rights Code.
Familiarity with Human Resources Information Systems, with a preference for experience using Workday.
Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain efficient and effective HR processes.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer applications.
Experience in labour relations is considered an asset.
Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills with the ability to build positive relationships internally and externally.
Demonstrated aptitude for identifying issues, generating solutions, and taking initiative to improve efficiency.
Strong ability to prioritize, schedule, and manage multiple tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.
Flexible, ethical, and self-directed professional able to work well in a changing environment and uphold organizational standards.
Compensation:
The target hiring range for this position is $66,831.48 to $83,539.35 with a maximum of $100,247.22.
Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
