About the Role
The
Systems Navigator
is a key member of the Youth Huddle team, supporting Indigenous youth through advocacy, appointment attendance, peer support, and resource navigation. This role helps coordinate care planning meetings, liaise with partner agencies, and support youth as they work toward their personal goals.
The Systems Navigator supports programming and supervision of the Youth Hub space, schedules appointments, delivers presentations about Ka Ni Kanichihk's services, and builds strong relationships within the community. This position may also act in a supervisory capacity when the Coordinator is unavailable and will work closely with the Coordinator to support youth with complex needs.
What You Will Be Doing
Support youth in navigating systems and accessing services
Attend appointments with youth and advocate on their behalf
Schedule and coordinate care planning meetings with service providers
Provide peer support and ensure a safe, welcoming environment at the Youth Hub
Support programming delivery and community outreach
Build and maintain relationships with community partners
Provide presentations on Youth Hub services and Ka Ni Kanichihk programs
Collaborate with Youth Hub staff and assist in supervisory duties when required
What You Bring
The ideal candidate is a compassionate, motivated, and community-driven individual with the following:
Relevant post-secondary education and/or a combination of education and related experience
Minimum two (2) years' experience working with Indigenous youth
Experience supporting high-risk youth with complex needs
Deep knowledge and respect for Indigenous cultures, spiritualties, and traditions
Experience working in trauma-informed, harm reduction, anti-racist, and decolonizing environments
Strong knowledge of local community resources and systems
Skills in advocacy, community development, and case coordination
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, digital communication tools, and database systems
Valid driver's license is required; access to a vehicle is an asset
Current (within 6 months) Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry Check
