The Healthy Streets Operations Centre supports the City\xe2\x80\x99s Downtown Core and Transit System Safety Plan and Community Safety and Well Being Strategy. Edmonton Fire Rescue Services (EFRS), in partnership with Edmonton Police Services, Alberta Health Services, and social agencies, will provide an integrated, multidisciplinary approach to supporting vulnerable communities in achieving public safety outcomes. This position is responsible for providing analytical support for work related to the Healthy Streets Operations Centre and related EFRS projects. The position will be responsible for developing analytical tools, process and data mapping, reports and analysis reporting. Works closely with the Healthy Streets Operation Center team to facilitate information sharing and data gathering and ensures data is adequately tracked, analyzed and reported to support project level decision making
Act as subject matter expert on Fire Rescue Services data and Healthy Streets Operation Center data; provide expertise and advice on appropriate data collection mechanisms
Assess/review how Fire Rescue Services gathers/collects data, such as key performance measures and other metrics
Create regular and ad hoc reports to support the Leadership Team
Ensure data integrity in databases, reports, etc.
Create dashboards or use other tools to present data visually in an interactive format
Identify operational issues, decision points and areas requiring significant branch action, via analysis of branch performance data and related operational trends
With a continuous improvement perspective, aid in standardizing processes and procedures to effectively and efficiently maximize the use and reporting of data management systems
Qualifications:
University graduation in Business Administration, Public Administration or a discipline as required by area of specialization
A minimum of two (2) years\xe2\x80\x99 directly related working experience is required
Strong research and data analytical skills
Knowledge of work methods, studies and analyzes procedures, practices and terminology as related to the work assigned
Knowledge of simulation, modeling, operation research and statistical techniques
Ability to understand and execute oral and written instructions of an advanced nature
Ability to express ideas and concepts effectively, orally and in writing
Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships as necessitated by work assignments
Ability to prepare and present technical briefs and reports
Ability to prepare technical reports and make recommendations
Demonstrated knowledge and skills in statistical analysis, gathering and consulting data and
information, analyzing data and synthesizing evaluation findings and presenting information
Strong organizational and time management skills with demonstrated ability to prioritize and
coordinate work to a deadline/tight deadlines
Hire is dependent upon a Police Information Check satisfactory to the City of Edmonton
Valid Alberta Class 5 driver\xe2\x80\x99s license (or provincial equivalent) is required
