SUMMARY

The HSE Supervisor acts as an advisor to the Business Unit\xe2\x80\x99s Operational leaders and provides leadership and guidance to the Primoris HSE professionals designated under their responsibility. The HSE Supervisor will be expected to provide a practical, hands-on approach to leadership and mentorship, while possessing the management skills to assist in implementing strategic HSE business objectives.

JOB DUTIES

  • Provide support, training and oversight for the effective implementation of the Canadian HSE Management System throughout the Business Unit(s)
  • Measure effectiveness of the HSE Management Systems and programs at the field level and propose revisions (where required) or additional supporting documentation that may need to be developed
  • Assist with the hiring, transferring and ongoing performance management of HSE team members
  • Mentor and train PSC personnel to HSE Management System and compliance expectations (e.g. HSE Manual training, policies and procedures, Intelex training, HSE Onboarding, etc.)
  • Ensure there is ongoing compliance with all government regulations, Client, and Company HSE policies and procedures
  • Monitor HSE specific Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for all projects designated under their responsibility and for the Business Unit(s)
  • Participate in bid/kickoff meetings and prepare necessary HSE deliverables (complete RFPIO entries, ensure deadlines are met, etc.) as needed
  • Review Project Execution Plans and develop Stage 3 gate process requirements
  • Demonstrate ownership and leadership by actively participating in formal inspections, audits, assessments and observations
  • Provide onsite HSE coverage/support as needed
  • Lead and participate in CauseMap RCA\xe2\x80\x99s, including report and corrective action development and implementation
  • Support the implementation of HSE initiatives rolled out by Primoris Corporate HSE
  • Provide regular updates regarding on-site activities, efficiency of HSE Management Systems, statistical data, and improvement opportunities to both Operations and the Corporate HSE Team
  • Liaise with HSE Assurance and Compliance Manager to support the training and assurance components of the HSE Management System
  • Assist with WCB claim coordination and support for the Business Unit
  • Develop and maintain relationships with existing and potential customer HSE representatives
  • Represent Primoris Canada at various industry and customer meetings, events, and symposiums
  • Various other duties as requested by management
QUALIFICATIONS
  • NCSO designation is required
  • OH&S Certificate and/or a CRSP designation would be considered an asset
  • 6+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in Health and Safety
  • 6+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in industrial construction (including: open pit/surfacing mines, pipeline construction/maintenance, fabrication, equipment repair, module assembly and installation, and tank assembly and installation)
  • CSO, BSO, or OSSA Regional ticket
SKILLS
  • Extensive knowledge in OH&S Legislation, Safety Management Systems and Operational Hazards & Controls within an industrial setting
  • Strong interpersonal, communication & presentation skills
  • Attention to detail with excellent writing/editing skills
  • Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions
  • Advanced computer skills, with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, various software applications
  • A self-starter requiring minimal supervision with the ability to multi-task and define priorities
  • Ability to represent the company in a professional and courteous manner
