DXP | HSE Integrated is currently hiring for a full-time, dual-role position of Confined Space Rescue Technician and Shop Technician at our Dartmouth, NS station.

The Shop Technician is responsible for assisting the Shop Foreman in the maintenance of safety equipment (Air trailers; SABA / SCBA breathing apparatus, gas detection, etc.) and the safety and maintenance of the facility and company property.


Shop Technician responsibilities



Inventory equipment in and report any missing or damaged items Clean, test and inspect equipment and respirators Operate breathing air compressor safely & according to company policies and procedures Load equipment for job deployment as needed Bump, calibrate and maintain gas detection equipment Repair or replace equipment (ie. fittings, valves, etc.) Assist other personnel as required Any other duties as assigned by supervisors and/or management
A Confined Space Rescue Technician's main responsibility is to work as a team member during rescue situations and critical tasks.


Confined Space Rescue Technician's responsibilities



Facilitate rescue in the event of an incident Development and communication of site-specific rescue plans Inspect and maintain all rescue equipment on daily basis and complete all applicable documentation Perform atmospheric testing, pre-entry and continuous Ability to follow support hierarchy Ability to work away from home for project duration Strong communication and problem-solving skills Ability to work in and contribute to a team environment, with a willingness to learn and grow with us Ability to pass a drug and alcohol test

Required qualifications:

Current Confined Space Entry & Rescue training is an asset Current First Aid & CRP training is an asset Driver's license and clean driver's abstract Experience running breathing air systems is an asset Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Arrive to work clean shaven and fit for duty Physically fit and able to perform job tasks, ability to maintain professionalism in high pressure situations Previous experience in a similar role
