Job Description

Reporting to the Director of People and Equity, the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) Implementation Specialist will coordinate the planning, execution, and delivery of the HRIS implementation project, ensuring alignment with municipal policies and operational needs. They will oversee all aspects of the project, ensuring timely completion, adherence to budget, and fulfillment of organizational requirements. Additionally, the specialist will work with the consultant and implementation committee to ensure that the system is configured to meet the county's business requirements.

What you'll do



Gather requirements by identifying user needs with primary users. Collaborate with users to gather and analyze business requirements, process flows, and data needs for HRIS configuration

Work with the selected vendor to implement features such as Onboarding, Recruitment, Performance Management, Position Management, and Compensation Management

Develop system processes aligned with business needs and integrate them into the HRIS

Configure and customize the HRIS to align with county-specific HR processes, policies, and requirements

Complete full cycle implementation, including Discovery, Configuration, Go Live, and Post Go Live phases. Lead HRIS projects for users, understanding their requirements, and providing tailored solutions

Collect, design, document, build, test, and deploy implementations

Support the People and Equity department in ad hoc reports and troubleshooting issues

Design and deliver training and user guides

Ensure thorough testing and documentation of test scripts and review the accuracy and integrity of HRIS procedures

Contribute knowledge and experience to ensure delivery of timely and high- quality services to employees and leaders

Monitor and develop HR systems to ensure professional services are effectively utilized

Ensure HR data compliance with employment legislation and county policies as applicable. Adhere to vendor and county security requirements

Support change management by identifying impacts to users and administrators

Other duties as assigned.

What you'll bring



University degree or college diploma in business, technology management, or human resources

2-4 years of project coordination experience (preferably with HRIS or IT systems)

Knowledge of municipal operations HR services Project

Excellent stakeholder management, problem-solving, and communication skills

Solution-oriented with the ability to learn new technology quickly through instruction and self- training

Knowledge of HR Systems, HRIS Training, HR Shared Services, HR Advisory Services, and Payroll

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite / 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), with advanced skills in Excel

Knowledge of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) principles and practices

Understanding of accessibility requirements and best practices

Valid Class G driver's license and access to reliable transportation required

Suitable work from home environment including reliable high-speed internet.
