Your Opportunity:Alberta Health Services is seeking an experienced Time and Labour (T&L) professional for the temporary role of HR Technician, Payroll Operations. This position will be supporting the Workforce Management Project for a period of up to 2 years supporting multiple launches for Alberta Health Services, Covenant Health Care, Carewest and Capital Care. This position will provide operational knowledge and expertise on e-People applications and use in business related to their subject areas. The ideal candidate is a subject matter expert of e-People T&L processes, rules, and interfaces and brings experience with Collective Agreements. Collaborate with the team members on system design, payroll rules and interfaces. Key resource to review business rules, gathers and provides business requirements. Key resource working with Project Team to understand current system and data for testing and conversion activities. Involved in functional design and configuration. Participate in key processes that impact the desired business outcomes and provide input to deliverables, such as the fit/gap analysis, business process mapping exercises and documentation. Review deliverables, e.g., business process maps and supporting documentation, fit/gap assessment, gap solution documentation, configuration workbooks, functional specifications to address gaps. Support Business Process Owners to identify process gaps and assist with the development and implementation of new business processes. Provide test scenarios, test data and complete development of test scripts. Participate in testing to ensure the implemented solutions meet business needs. Assist in maintaining the integrity of Provincial Template. Identify and escalate issues to the T&L Sr Advisor and Payroll Management. Supports Training and Change Management to identify training required with new, changed, or retired business processes.Description:As an HR Technician, you will require specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.

Required Qualifications:Completion of post-secondary education in a related field. Additional Required Qualifications:Completion of post-secondary education in a related field. CPA (Canadian Payroll Association) PCP certification required. 5+ years Payroll processing and Time & Labour experience required. Effective communicator with strong organizational skills and high attention to detail. Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills required. A strong commitment to operating within a team environment. Advanced skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and Outlook) required. Ability to function independently and in a team in a high demand, multitasking environment. Preferred Qualifications:Experience with PeopleSoft preferred. Experience in a unionized environment with multiple Collective Agreements preferred.
