Hr Recruiter/generalist

Job Description


Our customer, a major oil and gas producer is looking for a HR Recruiter/Generalist based out of Calgary, AB to fill a maternity leave for 18 months. This position will be a Monday-Friday schedule with an optional hybrid office schedule available. The successful candidate will work collaboratively within the HR function, with business leaders, business units, and the global HR organization to deliver the talent acquisition strategy and programs. This position requires a highly motivated, organized, and people-focused individual to provide full-cycle recruitment as well as generalist support within the HR Services and HR Business Partner\'s organizations.

Responsibilities:
Talent Acquisition

  • Partnering with HR Business Partners and hiring managers to understand current and future backfill and new positions needed to support the business
  • Handle full-cycle recruitment process; develop job requisitions, place employment ads, screen candidates, schedule and conduct interviews and prepare and present offer letters.
  • Support the candidates through the background check and drug and alcohol screening process
  • Work with the HR Associate within Workday to manage the organizational structure changes associated with hiring
  • Coordinate and participate in career fairs and other external-facing talent acquisition opportunities
Business Unit Partnership
  • Partner with the External Relations team to promote career opportunities to neighboring Indigenous Communities; attend community-led programs, career fairs
  • Work with the HR team and Business Unit leaders to staff teams, by supporting large scale hiring efforts. Some field travel may be involved in these initiatives.
Program Support
  • Partner with Engineering Leads to manage the Engineer New Grad program; intern hiring, calibration and selection.
  • Partner with Field Leaders to support the Indigenous Work Experience program
  • Support Company DEI goals by facilitating the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion strategy in all levels of the hiring process
  • Manage the Student/intern program, seek approvals, full cycle recruitment, regular check-ins and student network support. Support leaders in onboarding and mentoring students throughout their term.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources or related discipline
  • Minimum 3 years of HR generalist related experience with a focus on recruitment
  • Basic understanding of HR functions, such as payroll, benefits, and compensation
  • Advanced Computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong orientation for detail and accuracy
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, and must be a team player
  • Excellent organization and time management skills and able to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment independently
  • Able to maintain a high level of confidentiality
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in Oil & Gas
  • Proficient in Workday software
  • Ability and willingness to travel to field sites and school campuses, via flight and/or road transportation
  • Recognized as a resource within function for problem solving capabilities
  • Disciplined work ethic and works with a sense of urgency
  • Identifies, promotes, and implements best practices in area of responsibility
  • Strong decision-making ability
