Key Responsibilities:





The focus of the HR & Payroll Generalist role will be to:


Create, review and update client policies, handbooks, and other documents to ensure they are compliant with the relevant legislation as well as best practice Investigate and resolve employee relations issues Provide advice on performance and disciplinary issues Mentor internal HR Coordinators Assist with the administration and facilitation of terminations and suspensions per client needs Coordinate employee and/or disability leaves Administer training sessions and/or seminars Keep current with existing and proposed laws and regulations affecting HR practices Assist with specialized projects such as job descriptions, compensation reviews, HR audits, and HRIS implementations Provide recruitment support Initiate strategic planning, reinforce processes, and ensure compliance Other HR & Administrative tasks, as required


Payroll Functions

:
+ Perform full-cycle payroll processing for multiple clients, ensuring compliance with federal and provincial regulations, including Alberta's payroll standards.
+ Maintain payroll records, including employee data, tax information, and deductions.
+ Respond to payroll-related inquiries from clients and employees in a timely manner.
+ Assist with year-end payroll tasks, including preparing T4s and other government filings.
+ Ensure accurate remittances to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and other government bodies

The Minimum Qualifications






Post-secondary education in Human Resources 3+ years of HR generalist experience Full cycle payroll experience CPHR designation, or interest in pursuing the designation, is considered an asset PCP or CPM designation would be considered an asset Experience with Microsoft Office 365 is considered an asset Access to reliable transportation to travel from site to site, as necessary

Work Hours





This is a part-time position with anticipated fluctuating work hours ranging from 25 to 30 hours per week, with the possibility of providing an option to convert to full-time in the future
