What you will do:
Strategic Leadership and Policy Development: Partner with senior leadership to develop and execute HR strategies supporting business goals, including succession planning, compensation and benefits and employee engagement. Stay abreast of automotive industry HR trends and adapt strategies accordingly.
Talent Acquisition and Onboarding: Manage and oversee full-cycle recruitment to attract, recruit, and retain top talent across all departments (technicians, sales, administration, management), actively building the Crown brand. Ensure a best-in-class onboarding experience for all new hires.
Employee Relations: Foster a positive, productive, and inclusive work environment. Expertly manage employee relations, address conflicts, concerns, and grievances while ensuring strict compliance with Employment Standards, WCB, and provincial laws. Serve as the primary daily HR contact and trusted advisor for both employees and managers.
Training and Development: Identify organizational training needs; develop and implement programs that enhance employee skills, knowledge, and support professional growth.
Performance Management: Oversee, manage and refine the performance management process, including goal setting, performance reviews, and employee development plans. Coach and guide managers on all performance-related matters.
Employee Engagement and Recognition; Drive initiatives to boost employee engagement, including conducting surveys and interviews, organizing employee events, and chairing our social committee, all while championing and representing the Crown culture and CARMA values
HR Policy & Compliance: Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures in compliance with Manitoba employment standards, human rights legislation, health and safety regulations, and other relevant laws. Ensure all HR practices are current and consistently applied.
HR Administration & Payroll Support: Administer HR programs such as benefits, compensation, and holiday schedules. Ensure meticulous upkeep of employee files in the HRIS. Liaise with and support the payroll department with processes and documentation for smooth and accurate payroll processing.
Health and Safety: Lead facilitator and champion of safe work culture and procedures. Oversee WCB claims management and ensure compliance with all occupational health and safety regulations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in HR; CPHR designation (or pursuing).
5-7 years of progressive HR experience, management role preferred.
Automotive industry is an asset. Preference for those that have experience managing HR across multiple businesses and locations
Strong knowledge and experience working with Manitoba Employment Standards, WCB, and Workplace Health and Safety
Proven expertise in recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and policy development.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in HRIS and MS Office; payroll experience is an asset.
Valid driver's license.
