The Human Resources Manager provides human resources consultation and support to a designated business unit to define and execute HR strategies that enable accomplishment of business objectives.
Essential Duties:
Serve as the primary point of contact for all HR related inquiries across the region.
Provide guidance and support to managers on labour and employee relations concerns.
Conduct investigations into employee complaints and ensure fair & consistent application of HR policies and procedures.
Develop strong relationships with employee representatives / works councils / shop committee to ensure effective resolution of labour relations concerns.
Ensure compliance with local labour laws, regulations and company policies,
Support the recruitment of both hourly and salaried hires across Canada
Overseeing the onboarding process for new hires.
Maintain accurate employee records & HR databases, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
Participate in various Employee Committees to include but not limited to Engagement and Joint Health and Safety, Duty to Accommodate etc.
Participate in operational audits (ISO, Financial etc.) and support Worksafe claims management for the operations.
Support and mentor Human Resources team across Canada (BC and Ontario) as well as serve as coach/mentor to operational leaders in relation to Human Resources practices.
Participate in Bargaining and escalated legal complaints (Arbitrations, Tribunals etc.)
Lead training and learning initiative implementation at site level.
Ensure compliance training conducted, and records maintained.
Participate in global projects and their implementation across the USA and Canada.
* Lead and manage HR initiatives within HR cycle. (Talent Review, Compensation, Succession Planning etc.)
