Oversee the recruitment process, including coordination of the job posting/advertising process, screening of candidates, coordination and collection of all new hire documentation, completion of employment verification, criminal checks, and driver's abstract, generates letter of offer, and provides completed new hire document packages to Payroll for processing, coordinating and maintaining employee performance reviews.
Oversee the departure process, including conducting Exit Interviews and ensuring departure procedures are followed (i.e. notify relevant parties: Payroll, security, benefits provider, etc.)
Facilitate new employee on-boarding and group and individual information sessions.
Foster and maintain a strong relationship with external temporary support agencies to facilitate placements for temporary/agency staff.
Provide support in functional areas of the Human Resources including maintaining and updating records related to Human Resources.
Communicate directly with managers to ensure accurate and timely HR administration of new hires, departures, transfers, absence management, and training records.
Respond to routine inquiries by employees regarding HR policies, procedures, and Payroll matters.
Assist in maintaining employee database/list and training programs current and up to date.
Provide general administrative and/or analytical support including preparation of announcements, creating minutes, and document distribution regarding HR related activities or updates.
Actively supports the delivery of employee engagement initiatives, promotes the employee recognition program and employee events.
Complete special projects as assigned by the HR team to ensure current and efficient HR processes, practices, and procedures.
Compile and maintains monthly HR metrics (recruitment costs, turnover, employee engagement).
Coordinates and/or facilitates training initiatives as required (i.e. safety, compliance, etc.).
Ensures mandatory health and safety training is conducted, (i.e. WHMIS 2015, safe lift/working from heights, First Aid, etc.) and that the relevant information is distributed and posted at all sites.
Assist in the management of WSIB claims, including distributing claim package, reviewing and processing Internal Accident Report Forms and filing relevant WSIB forms, i.e. Form 7.
Provides support to various site's Management team with respect to Safety initiatives, which includes serving as an active member of the Health & Safety committee, taking minutes, preparing and distributing meeting minutes and agendas, completing, overseeing and executing workplace inspections.
Other projects and duties as required.
