Human Resources (HR) GENERALIST

Reports To



Chief Learning and Curriculum Officer

Job Purpose



The Human Resources (HR) Generalist is based in Vancouver, BC and supports employees in British Columbia, other Canadian provinces, and the United States as required. This role works in partnership with HRCovered for Canadian operations and FrankCrum for U.S. operations.

This position supports the day-to-day delivery of human resources services and ensures HR practices are applied consistently across a growing, multi-location workforce.

Key Responsibilities



Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Coordinate employment documentation, contracts, and employee records. Support employees in British Columbia and other Canadian provinces in coordination with external service providers. Support U.S.-based employees in coordination with FrankCrum. Act as a point of contact for employee relations questions and concerns. Ensures compliance with applicable British Columbia legislation, including the Employment Standards Act, the Pay Transparency Act, the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation, the Human Rights Code*, and any other applicable legislation.
Provides support for employees in other provinces, as needed, including applicable legislation in those jurisdictions. Coordinates with the U.S.-based branches on HR initiatives. Support performance management and employee development processes. Assist with policy development, updates, and communication. Coordinate benefits, leaves, and payroll inputs with external partners. Support health and safety compliance and required training. Maintain accurate HR files and HRIS records. Prepare HR reports and workforce data as required. Support internal audits and compliance reviews. Assist with employee training and engagement initiatives. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Key Qualifications



Bachelor's degree or post-secondary certificate in Human Resources or a related field. Minimum 3 years of experience in a human resources role. Working knowledge of British Columbia's employment standards and occupational health and safety. Previous exposure to multi-jurisdictional HR support, including the U.S., is an asset. Experience working with external HR service providers. Strong understanding of HR policies and procedures. Proficiency with HR systems and Microsoft Office tools.

Working Conditions



The standard workweek for this position is 40 hours. The standard business hours for this position are Monday-Friday 8-4pm Overtime and hours worked outside of the standard work schedule may be required. This position is hybrid. Extended periods of sitting may be required. Constant interaction with staff, clients, and public. Constant exposure to screen-held devices, whether laptops or desktops, etc.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 per year
