KPCL is seeking an HR Generalist who thrives in dynamic and fast-paced environments
to support the full spectrum of HR operations with a primary focus on full cycle recruitment and onboarding. Approximately 70% of this role is dedicated to talent acquisition and retention initiatives, especially during the peak construction season.
Where You'll Be Working:
Location: KPCL Clavet Office, about 15 minutes east of Saskatoon off Highway 16
What You'll Be Doing:
Lead full cycle recruitment and retention efforts,
posting job descriptions and advertisements, screening and managing candidate applications, conducting interviews, extending employment offers and making onboarding arrangements (approximately 70% of role will be focused on recruitment)
Schedule and facilitate onboarding orientations and training
to foster a positive and informative employee experience
Maintain accurate and confidential employee records
, including onboarding documentation, training records, benefits enrollments, performance reviews, terminations, and other personnel-related files;
Develop, update, and administer HR policies, procedures, programs, and training materials
in alignment with organizational needs and applicable legislation;
Assist with claims management
and support the resolution of employee relations matters, escalating issues as appropriate;
Uphold the highest standards of professionalism and confidentiality
when handling sensitive employee and organizational information;
Adapt to the demands of the role
, potentially working additional hours during peak times of recruitment and onboarding periods to meet organizational requirements;
Perform any other duties as assigned
, including providing administrative support to HR and Payroll functions, in response to the evolving needs of the organization.
What You Bring:
Education:
Diploma or Degree in Human Resources or related field is an asset
Experience:
2-5 years of recruitment experience, with a strong background in high-volume, fast-paced recruitment (preference may be given to candidates with previous experience recruiting for construction or trades positions)
Industry Exposure:
Experience working outside of a corporate office environment, preferably in the heavy construction, industrial, mining or related industry
Communication Skills:
Effective verbal, written, interpersonal, and presentation skills with the ability to engage and influence individuals in different disciplines and at different levels
Motivation:
Energized by complexity and challenges, thriving in dynamic and evolving environments
Adaptability:
Quick to respond to changes while maintaining alignment with long term direction
Regulatory Knowledge:
Familiarity with Saskatchewan employment legislation and regulations; knowledge of other Western Canadian provinces is an asset
Proficient with Microsoft Office 365
