HR Generalist
to support our employees and strengthen our HR processes.
Position Summary
The HR Generalist will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of human resources programs across the organization. This role supports both
construction field staff and office employees
, acting as a trusted resource for employees and management while ensuring compliance with Ontario employment legislation.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Onboarding
Coordinate full-cycle recruitment for field and office roles (job postings, screening, interviews, offers)
Support onboarding and orientation for new hires, including documentation and training coordination
Maintain employee files and HR records
Employee Relations
Act as a first point of contact for employee questions regarding policies, benefits, and workplace issues
Support managers with performance management, attendance, and disciplinary processes
Assist with conflict resolution and employee investigations as required
HR Administration & Compliance
Administer HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook
Ensure compliance with
Ontario employment standards, WSIB, and health & safety requirements
Track employee data including attendance, leaves, probation periods, and training
Payroll & Benefits Support
Support payroll preparation by maintaining accurate employee data (hours, changes, terminations)
Administer benefits enrollment, changes, and employee inquiries
Coordinate leaves of absence (vacation, sick leave, WSIB, maternity/parental)
Health & Safety & Training
Support health & safety initiatives, training records, and incident documentation
Coordinate mandatory training (WHMIS, Working at Heights, etc.)
Assist with employee engagement and retention initiatives
