Position SummaryWe are looking for an HR Generalist to join our People Team for a 14-month maternity leave coverage. This role will report to the Director, People Team and support various strategic HR programs, policies, and talent development of our people in pursuit of achieving business objectives. Role and Responsibilities
  • Provide human resources guidance and partnership to Vancouver R&D leaders
  • Provide general support as needed for the Vancouver site
  • Provide remote support to the Toronto and Montreal AI sites as needed
  • Serve as an initial point of contact for diverse, employee-related inquiries and be able to escalate and prioritize critical matters as needed
  • Contribute and positively impact the ongoing culture; be a key driver of ongoing engagement within the site
  • Support and provide guidance on Canadian immigration policies, PR support documentation and Work Permit applications
  • Provide input and support for learning and development enhancements for the Vancouver site
  • Work closely with the People Team Director to create input and carryout program initiatives
  • Support the People Team in projects, processes and programs
  • Manage special projects as assigned in a broad range of areas, as business needs arise
  • Support the People Team with internal and external events
Skills and Qualifications
  • 5 years of progressive experience in human resources and at least 3 years of prior experience as an HR Business Partner or Generalist supporting technical teams preferred
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree specializing in Human Resources Management
  • CPHR designation is an asset
  • Experience in the area of Learning & Development is an asset
  • Strong communication, leadership, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills with proven skills in communication, relationship-building and influencing best practices
  • Successful in supporting effective and positive employee relations, retention, and reward programs
  • Ability to handle strictly confidential information
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines; ability to manage multiple competing priority simultaneously
  • Excellent attention to details
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Positive attitude and willingness to go the extra mile to support the team
Skills and QualificationsThe salary range for this role is expected to be between $71,000 to $95,000 and reflects base salary only. Actual pay will be determined based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, competencies, qualifications, relevant skills and experience.
