What You'll Do
Assists with
full-cycle recruitment
for assigned regions, including job postings, screening candidates, interview scheduling and extending offers;
Coordinates the onboarding and orientation process for new hires;
Sources, coordinates and
attends job fairs
within assigned regions (Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Ontario);
Performs a variety of tasks to support the HR Manager, to ensure smooth day-to-day operations of the HR function;
Coordinates employee benefits enrollment and administration, answers employee queries;
Assists in organizing employee engagement events, and provides support with health and safety initiatives and monthly training;
Performs HR Administrative duties such as filing, scanning, and document management including ensuring employee records are maintained and updated accordingly;
Creates and updates templates, forms and documents as needed;
Provides general administrative support to the HR Manager;
Travels to New Brunswick and Nova Scotia as needed; and
Assists with special projects and other HR duties as assigned.
Who You Are
Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business or related field;
Previous recruitment experience;
Criminal record check;
Valid driver's license with access to a reliable and insured vehicle;
Acceptable driver's abstract;
Knowledge of employment legislation on PEI, including Employment Standards Act, Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act and its regulations, Human Rights Act;
Willingness to familiarize oneself with relevant New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Ontario employment legislation, with the ability to conduct independent research, interpret employment standards and apply them appropriately;
Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills;
Proficiency in English is required, bilingualism in French is an asset;
Very strong organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines;
Keen
attention to detail
to produce high quality work;
Self-motivated with the ability to
take initiative
and work with minimal supervision;
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); and
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
