We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Human Resources Coordinator to join our dynamic team to cover a maternity leave (18 months-24 months estimated). The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting various HR functions, including talent acquisition, data management, and administrative tasks. This position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
Duties:
Employee Relations
Provides support to HR Manager related to progressive discipline and termination of employment where appropriate
Provides support to HR Manager during the investigative process regarding employee relations issues
Total Health and Wellness
Provides resources that employees and Supervisors can access to proactively address wellness concerns
Provides support to HR Manager, Safety, and/or third-party experts regarding disability management and WCB claims
Inclusion and Human Connections
Takes the lead on social committee tasks and organizes corporate events
Total Rewards
Provides support to HR Manager regarding initial administration of group pension plan
Advises workers on group benefit eligibility and available coverages
Recruitment and Mobility
Executes workforce recruiting needs as required:
Reviews applicants on Indeed
Conducts initial phone screening of applicants
Schedules and conducts interviews with qualified applicants
Utilizes applicant tracker and recruitment tracker to provide updates and condensed information on the status of current recruitment and onboarding initiatives
Facilitates reference checks
Drafts offer letters for new hires and sends out new hire paperwork
Completes project assignment forms for site transfers
Coordinates onboarding for new hires and sends orientation documentation to Site Supervision
Provides auxiliary timesheet to Payroll for onboarding hours for new workers
Attends career fairs to promote company brand and attract potential new talent
Organizational Change and Development
Develops and provides support to the creation of assigned policies, procedures, and best operating practices (BOPs)
HR Administration
Completes verifications of employment
Updates emergency contact lists for office and sites
Completes filing and administration for HR Department
Qualifications:
A minimum of one (1) to two (2) years' Human Resources experience is required
Proficiency with electronics, including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook)
Proficiency with utilizing an electronic documents platform (e.g. Box, Adobe Sign)
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Sound ability to exercise tact, discretion, and maintain confidentiality
Previous experience in the Construction &/or Mining Industry is strongly preferred
Previous experience in workforce plan execution for field roles is strongly preferred
Previous recruitment experience is strongly preferred
A Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in HR is a strong asset
