About the opportunity
The HR Coordinator will provide support to Managers and Employees including but not limited to HR and Payroll Administration Recruitment, Employee Relations, and Performance. This role will work closely with the Director of Human Resources & Health and Safety to create a positive, productive, and engaged workforce. The HR Coordinator must be able to build relationships with all levels of the organization, provide workable solutions to help solve problems, and have excellent communication skills while contributing to the development and implementation of the organization's growth strategy, mission, and vision.
In this key role, you will be responsible for the following but not limited to as other ad hoc requests may be given:
HR KEY FUNCTIONS & ACCOUNTABILITIES
Educate, counsel, and support Managers and Employees on Employee Relations, ABCRC policies & procedures, Alberta Employment Standards, Human Rights and Collective Agreement matters
Timely and efficiently manage full-cycle recruitment for the union roles to meet operational demands (i.e., job postings, sourcing, screening, and selection)
Conduct the hire and rehire function in Dayforce. Ensure the proper completion of Dayforce Onboarding
Support the onboarding and offboarding process but not limited to
Prepare required paperwork for employee changes (i.e., Increase letters/Pay Rate Change Form) but not limited to
Prepare Temporary Layoff letters and conduct recalls when required
Email to Managers "Letter of Recognition" and gift card when their direct report reaches their milestone anniversary celebration
Conduct of an annual distribution of policies for review/collection of sign off forms/auditing
Ensure our Union and Salaried New Hire Packages are electronically up to date
Create HR Purchase Orders as required
Completion of Statistics Canada surveys (for HR data requests only)
SUPPORT TO OR INITIATIVES
Support to the Director of Human Resources & Health and Safety on special projects and additional initiatives as requested
Become the Ceridian Dayforce Subject Matter Expertise (SME)
Participate in CBA negotiation; responsible for minute taking, updating documentation, and printing as required
REPORTING, RECORD KEEPING & QUALITY MANAGEMENT
Filing; be the Gate Keeper of our electronic Payroll, Human Resources and Medical files
Submit required information and documentation to the union
Update and keep continued accuracy of the organizational chart and ABCRC telephone listing
Ensure data accuracy and integrity
Conduct data audits
EDUCATION AND TRAINING
The HR Coordinator requires a post-secondary diploma, PCP and/or certificate in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a business discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Understanding of provincial legislation, human rights and CRA requirements is a must. Exposure to project management and program development would be considered an asset.
EXPERIENCE
The HR Coordinator must have a minimum of 3 years+ experience. A nice to have, is a combined human resource and recruiting experience.

Strong knowledge of the Alberta Employment Standards and Human Rights. Must be compliant and able to provide counsel/interpretation
