Responsibilities

PRIMARY PURPOSE
As a Human Resources Business Partner, provides trusted consultation, advice, coaching, and other related support to business leaders and employees in designated groups across TransLink. Acts as first point of contact for clients and works collaboratively with subject matter experts across all People & Culture (P&C) disciplines to ensure plans, programs and practices are aligned to support the achievement of business objectives.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Develops and maintains effective partnerships with designated business leaders, and serves as a strategic HR partner, providing trusted advice to proactively support the execution of a positive employee experience and achievement of business objectives.
Applies HR expertise and a deep knowledge of the business to provide strategic guidance and advice for assigned business portfolios on all aspects of human resources including employee and labour relations, talent acquisition & workforce planning, organizational design, change management, performance management, compensation, employee engagement, resource planning, learning and career development and succession planning. Leverages and collaborates with specialized expertise across all P&C disciplines to facilitate effective practices and processes.
Provides business input and supports specialist teams across all P&C disciplines on the development of new people initiatives. Supports and champions the implementation and execution of various People & Culture programs and related value-added processes that support business goals and objectives.
Provides consultation on policy interpretation and application of employment standards and other regulatory requirements, ensuring proper implementation of HR practices and initiatives within the context of the policy and legislative framework.
Maintains an external perspective anticipating people trends and researches best practice as necessary to ensure HR solutions are optimized for business leaders and employees. Practices continuous learning by keeping abreast of human resources generalist knowledge and leveraging internal human resources specialists.
Actively contributes to the shaping of TransLink's people strategy. Contributes to the assessment of existing programs and processes, and leverages P&C metrics/data to proactively contribute to the development of People solutions.
Qualifications
------------------
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
The requirements for this job are acquired through a degree in human resources or a related discipline, and five years of related experience as an Advisor, Business Partner or Consultant/Specialist. A professional designation (CPHR) is preferred.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Advanced knowledge of the concepts, principles, and practices pertaining to the human resources field
Solid knowledge of the relevant policies, labour laws, employment standards and other regulatory requirements as well as the provisions of the collective agreement
Advanced relationship-building skills with ability to develop critical partnerships with leaders and employees, and ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues in a multi-disciplinary context
Advanced interpersonal and communications skills to provide general HR consultation, advice and coaching to business leaders and employees
Solid analytical, and problem-solving skills, demonstrating resiliency and agility in problem-solving and the ability to influence and promote new ideas and processes and deliver trusted and value-added advice to leaders.
Solid business acumen with ability to develop a deep understanding of business functions, strategies and objectives
Solid project and change management skills to manage multi-disciplinary initiatives and facilitate implementation and related change
Solid planning skills to develop People plans and strategies in alignment to business objectives
Solid organizational and time management skills to effectively deliver HR expertise and services to diverse clients
Proficiency using MS Office applications with an emphasis on Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook and HR Information Systems (HRIS).

Rate of Pay
---------------
The salary for this position ranges from $82,400 - $123,600 per annum. Actual salary offered will be based on education, experience, skills, and qualifications as they relate to the role.
