:We are adding a Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP) to our Canadian Human Resources Team based in Edmonton! Reporting to the Director, Human Resources and working collaboratively within the team, the HRBP will be assigned to specific business units. This role will involve partnering with business leaders across the country to provide coaching, support, and strategic influence aimed at enhancing the attraction, development, engagement, and retention of talent.Why work for Clean Harbors?

Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement impactful HR initiatives that align HR strategies with business goals.
  • Collaborate with leaders to develop and execute comprehensive workforce planning, talent pipeline strategies, employee development programs, and talent acquisition efforts tailored to meet specific unit needs.
  • Initiate and lead programs aimed at enhancing engagement, boosting retention, and reducing turnover.
  • Assess and prioritize the needs of the business unit concerning HR centers of excellence (Compensation, Benefits, Recruiting, Development) and work with COE leaders to propose and implement effective solutions.
  • Facilitate the annual performance management, employee development, and compensation review processes within assigned business units.
  • Manage and resolve complex employee and labour relations issues, ensuring fair and effective outcomes.
  • Conduct thorough investigations, document findings, and implement outcomes to address workplace concerns.
  • Train managers and employees on company policies, procedures, and organizational development programs.
  • Interpret & administer union agreements, ensuring compliance with collective bargaining agreements and addressing union grievances and concerns.
  • Stay informed on employment standards and legislation to effectively manage employees, mitigate legal risks, and ensure regulatory compliance.
Qualifications:
  • Degree or Diploma in Human Resources, Business, or related field
  • CPHR designation
  • 5+ years of progressively responsible Human Resources experience including strategic partnership and talent management; Industrial Services, Oil & Gas Services, Construction or similar industries preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in labour relations, including grievance resolution, and fostering positive employee relations while maintaining productive union partnerships
  • Demonstrated ability to influence change within the organization by leveraging strong working relationships built on trust
  • Unwavering commitment to ethical conduct and confidentiality, exercising good judgment and discretion in handling sensitive information and matters
  • Flexibility in dealing with multiple time-sensitive issues and rapidly changing priorities while maintaining focus and effectiveness
  • High attention to detail, excellent organizational and time management skills, and strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to travel as business demands require
