In a typical day, you will be responsible for:
HR legislative compliance (e.g. Employment Standards, Human Rights, etc.) in relation to people/business practices within the organization
Timely and accurate delivery of HR Processes in alignment with company policies, procedures and practices
Effective and timely partnership with leaders in support of their leadership responsibilities, people and culture goals, and general guidance as may be needed
Addressing day to day general HR inquiries with timely, accurate and helpful guidance for successful outcomes
Providing guidance to leaders with regard to general HR disciplines and supporting performance management initiatives in support of successful business outcomes
Succession planning in supporting leaders with the identification and development of employees who demonstrate potential to grow within Toromont
Recommending and being part of (as may be needed) strategies and initiatives that will improve people and culture outcomes
A commitment to the success of Toromont's people and culture vision my modelling "the way" proactively and consistently
Must have for this role:
Bachelor Degree or post-secondary degree with a focus in Human Resources Management; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Target of 5+ years' Human Resources experience; unionized experience is an asset
Bilingual FR/EN an asset with consideration to client groups
Demonstrated knowledge of HR legislation, and HR functions including; employee / labour relations, recruitment, health and safety, disability management, compensation, benefits, and organizational development
Business Acumen with the ability to partner with operations to achieve successful outcomes via people strategy
Effective communication, interpersonal, and problem solving skills to effectively connect with stakeholders at all levels
Demonstrated ability to be creative and persuasive as workplace situations may require, including comfort with managing shifting priorities and timelines
HR designation (or working towards) is an asset
This position requires 20% travel, and is based in-office (4 days/week)
