This position reports to the Manager, HR Business Partnering & Talent Acquisition in the Human Resources Service Unit (HSU), part of Pembina's Corporate Services Division. This role plays an integral part in ensuring that Pembina can deliver on its strategic objectives by working closely with business clients to provide guidance and support as it relates to people-related goals and objectives.The HR Business Partner is accountable for providing proactive HR generalist support to some of our Pipelines and Operations Business Units. The HR Business Partner leads the delivery of HR programs and provides coaching and advice to business leaders on employee relations, talent management, compensation, and workforce planning, among others. This role involves close collaboration with the HR Strategic Partnering, Talent Acquisition, Compensation and Employee Services teams to deliver HR solutions and guidance that drive business success. This role is also expected to provide mentorship to more junior members of the team.The Human Resources Services Unit (HSU) acts to create a differentiated experience for our employees so that we can deliver extraordinary energy solutions so the world can thrive. Functional areas within HSU include Human Resources Strategic Partnering and Business Partnering, Culture, Inclusion & Leadership, Employee Experience Solutions Centre, and Human Resources Operations.Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

  • Partnering with Leaders: Build strong relationships with leaders to identify workforce challenges, provide tailored HR solutions, and support the execution of HR programs.
  • Providing HR Generalist Expertise: Provides guidance on leadership development, employee relations, performance management, compensation, and workforce planning while ensuring compliance with employment standards.
  • Providing Strategic Support: Work in partnership with the HR Strategic Partner enabling a 'one HR' approach to the delivery of strategic HR solutions such as strategic facilitation and organizational design.
  • Delivering Annual HR Programs: Support the delivery of key HR programs, including key talent reviews, succession planning, performance calibrations and annual compensation programs.
  • Problem Solving with Data: Utilize HR data to solve problems and drive proactive HR solutions that will drive desired business outcomes.
  • Leading Investigations: Utilizing your strong investigation skills by conducting workplace investigations and providing recommendations on corrective actions.
  • Coaching and Advising: Act as a trusted advisor to leaders, offering coaching and support to address challenges, implement sustainable solutions, and foster a high-performance culture.
  • Collaborating Across Teams: Work closely with the HR Centers of Excellence to deliver integrated solutions that drive desired business outcomes.
  • Facilitating Fit-for-purpose Leadership and Team Sessions: Using your facilitation skills, design and facilitate workshops to support teams in driving a high-performance culture.
Qualifications:Experience: Proven depth of experience in HR advisory or business partnering roles, with a strong background in employee relations, investigations, and performance management. Experience working with Operations and Labour Relations is considered an asset.Knowledge: In-depth understanding of employment standards and human rights legislation.Skills:
  • Proactive, self-starter with strong time management and prioritization skills.
  • Exceptional communication, influencing and relationship-building abilities.
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills to identify trends and recommend solutions.
  • Ability to quickly pivot where needed.
  • Proficiency in SuccessFactors (an asset).
