What We are Looking For:
We are currently recruiting for an HR Assistant to join our Administrative team for a part-time position. This role is responsible for providing entry level support to the HR Generalist and assisting with general administrative and occasional finance tasks to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
A successful candidate in this role would have
Successful completion of a post-secondary diploma or certificate in human resources, business administration, or a related field (preferred)
2-3 years of administrative or HR experience
Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation, or working toward certification, considered an asset
Knowledge of employment standards and HR best practices, with the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately
Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience working with HRIS systems
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills
Excellent communication skills (oral and written), with strong attention to detail
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively as part of a team
Solid interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships
Sound judgment and the ability to provide guidance to employees and managers on HR processes
In this role you will be expected to complete the following tasks:
Provide administrative support to the HR Generalist.
Assist with the full recruitment cycle, including drafting and posting job descriptions, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and conducting reference checks
Maintain employee records and HR databases, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
Assign and track mandatory and role-specific training through online platforms, ensuring records are updated and compliance is maintained
Support onboarding and orientation of new hires, including preparing paperwork and facilitating sessions
Assist with employee inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, and processes, escalating as needed
Assist in drafting and editing HR policies, job descriptions, and other HR-related documents
Assist Leadership by ensuring they have the correct HR forms, templates, and process information
Coordinate calendars, meetings, and presentations, and organize logistics
Prepare HR reports as required
Develop and maintain the HR shared drive and document management systems
Provide occasional backup support to Finance (e.g., accounts payable/receivable, bank deposits) as needed
Perform other duties as assigned

The successful candidate would be eligible for the following benefits:
Salary of $22.18-$24.91 Hourly.
3 Weeks paid vacation, with an increase to 4 weeks after 1 year of employment
15 Sick/Personal Days per year
10 Professional Development days per year
