HR Advisor - Health Promotion

Hours of work: Full-time (37.5 hrs/wk) Flexible Work Role: Hybrid



Annual salary: $ 87,700.00 - 110,900.00


What you'll do




In collaboration with the Manager, Health and Recovery Services, this role will lead the evaluation of our current health
promotion and disease prevention roadmap and annual workplan to support the health, productivity and engagement of


employees and managers and make recommendations on programming and service delivery models.




Designs, develops, and implements best practice and evidence-based intervention approaches for health promotion and
disease prevention initiatives and ensures integration of programming into all health and recovery services and processes


and other HR programs where appropriate.




In collaboration with the Manager, Health and Recovery Services, identifies workplace trends, issues and risks and
develops and implements appropriate mitigation strategies to improve health, productivity and engagement and mitigate


disability.




Manages the day-to-day operations and vendor support for the health promotion services and providers including
providers for EFAP, fitness centre management, campaigns, and digital health resources.




Works with Senior HR Advisors in Recovery team and Claims team to identify early intervention opportunities within
Recovery team programs and procedures to fully leverage health promotion programs and resources.




Ensures effective program evaluation & reporting measures are in place, supporting effective and regular quarterly and
annual reporting on program utilization and outcomes.




Participates in the procurement process for all health and wellbeing related service providers - existing and new.


Develop and implement communication plans that support the roll out of health promotion programs and campaigns.


With the support of HR Systems and Analytics and Benefits teams, identify employee health issues and priorities through
the analysis of health data.




Evaluate utilization, progress and effectiveness of health promotion programs, campaigns and services and make
recommendation for evolution of new programs to support changing landscape.




Develop content, curriculum and deliver education and training on issues related to health and wellbeing (i.e., mental
health).




Partners effectively with stakeholders to review, update and develop curriculum for targeted training programs (e. g.,
HEALTH-001, Powering up Our Front Line Leaders) that support awareness of supporting mental health in the workplace.




Build internal advocates/champions and develops strategy for strengthening these networks (from Health and Wellness
Rep network, Employee Resource Groups, through to the business).




Maintains and builds professional networks related to workplace health promotion to stay current with best practices in the industry and remain knowledgeable of potential opportunities for BC Hydro.


Develops & evolves Health Promotion Program procedures and program tools identifying clear accountabilities.

What you bring




A Bachelor's degree in a related discipline (e.g., Health Sciences, Public Health, Human Resources, Disability
Management, etc.)




A minimum of five years of comprehensive experience specific to workplace wellbeing program development and
management (or an equivalent combination of experience and specialized education) ideally within an intermediate to large,


unionized environment. Experience in providing these services in a utility industry is an asset.




An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.


Strong leadership, interpersonal and relationship building skills and the ability to work with and influence people at all
levels of the organization.




Proven ability to think strategically and align programs and services with broader organizational direction.


Demonstrated knowledge and application of health promotion, behaviour change and population health-based theories
and models.


Experience in program development, management, process design and evaluation.


Superior problem-solving skills, effective decision making ability, consulting skills.


Well-developed written and verbal communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.


Proven ability to transfer knowledge (gained through formal and informal research) and stay aware of current trends and
technical advancements.




Time management skills are a must; as well as the ability to be flexible and creative.


A proven ability to exercise confidentiality, discretion, and sound judgement.


Ability to travel throughout BC including air travel.


Valid Class 5 driver's license, ability to drive and access to a motor vehicle.
