Job Description


  • Associate Relations: Investigates employee relations matters in a timely and respectful way to balance maintaining an engaged workforce that meets operational needs. Facilitates Employee Orientation and works to welcome all new employees to the Facilities on a regular basis. Works with Management to create and maintain an environment and plan for successful human resource management and high performance, including promotion, participation and execution of eVoice related initiatives.

  • Recruitment: Works with the leadership team to plan for and meet the staff needs for the facilities, by prescreening, conducting interviews and other recruitment related activities. This includes working with Management to develop and maintain accurate forecasts and development of an appropriate recruitment strategy and overseeing the timely completion of all related documents and activities related to recruitment.

  • Performance Management & Compensation: Administers the Compensation and Rewards programs of Best Buy Canada, and ensures program is understood by management and associates. Fields questions and resolves problems in a timely and respectful manner. Tracks common issues and makes recommendations for program changes. Facilitates the administration of benefits programs.

  • Health & Safety: Promotes health and safety programs, ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies and relevant legislation. Liaises between safety committees and management with regard to improving safety practices. Ensures incidents/accidents are reported in a timely manner and in compliance with regulatory requirements. Encourage safety in the workplace and use feedback to help prevent future workplace injuries.

  • Associate Development; Learning & Development: Provides training and development to all associates through ad hoc coaching as well as through structured facilitation. Develops team by creating effective development activities. Coordinates management and leadership training. Coordinates and promotes training for all associates in areas necessary to achieve organizational goals

  • Claims Management: Responsible for managing all WSIB Claims, STD and LTD claims. Positively represent the company through exceptional cooperation and effort to work with third party disability provider on graduated and modified return to work programs
