Ktunaxa Kinbasket Child & Family Services (KKCFSS) is a non-profit Child, Youth and Family Delegated Aboriginal Agency governed by a Board of Directors represented by ?akisqnuk, ?aqam, yaqan nu?kiy (Lower Kootenay Band), yaqit ?aknuq?i?it (Tobacco Plains Band), Shuswap Band and the Metis Nation BC. KKCFSS programs and services are available to Ktunaxa citizens, First Nations, Metis and Inuit living on and off-reserve in Ktunaxa ?amak?is (Traditional Territory).

The Opportunity:

This role provides operational Human Resources support to the HR Manager and employees with a focus on recruitment, selection and orientation. This position reports directly to the HR Manager.

In the Role as HR Administrator, You Will:



Function with ethics, integrity, and confidentiality.

Provide creative solutions to HR challenges and processes. This requires the ability to respond with in-the-moment, integrated contributions that are meaningful and purposeful.

Administer policies and practices ensuring consistency and quality of administration.

Minimize organizational liabilities.

Clear, open and consistent communication internally and externally representing the organization professionally and ethically.

Maintain human resource files, personal privacy and confidentiality; meeting all legislated requirements.

Participate in the Recruitment and Selection process. Screening, interview and selection format; arrangements, conduct interviews, conduct reference checks, prepare correspondence; communicate with candidates.

Conduct New Employee Orientation. Conduct welcoming, orientation, benefits and policy communication, payroll and benefits enrollments, liaise with IT, Finance and Payroll, facilities etc. for all work requirements.

Maintain Confidential Records. Meet legislated requirements of employee records; information for managerial reports and analysis. Maintain and process a variety of confidential records including employee files, payroll changes, resumes, interview notes, reference checks, benefit enrolments, performance valuations and investigations.

Time off Manager System. Ensure employee information for time benefits are set up, monitored, and adjusted as required.

Personnel and Payroll Administration. Prepare and process required documentation, ensure appropriate authorities for personnel and payroll changes.

Participate in Compensation and salary administration.

Maintain position descriptions for all established positions.

Administer benefit programs including enrolment, changes with carriers and employees; information to employees.

Disability Administration. Liaise with employees, Executive Director, managers, team leaders, Payroll and benefits carrier regarding short and long-term disability benefits; return to work etc.

What You Will Bring to the Role:



Post secondary diploma / degree with focus on Human Resources specialization preferred.

Working knowledge of Federal and BC Labour Standards.

Communication: reading, writing, oral, presentations, strong vocabulary, listen, interpretation.

Interpersonal: listening, observation, non-judgment, understanding, caring, compassion, and resilient.

Facilitation skills.

Adaptability and flexibility: resourceful to seek creative solutions.

Problem solving skills coupled with analytical abilities that enable consideration of details and complexities of issues while achieving results.

Records management.

Integrity, ethics, ability to consistently maintain a high level of confidentiality.

Indigenous cultural awareness and sensitivity.

Genuinely warm presence, friendly, sincere, and a drive for service excellence.

Organizational skills: strong office administration skills, strong organizational and multi-tasking skills and able to manage multiple projects successfully; prioritize work and projects; recognizing the need for doing thorough and complete work, at the same time addressing the shifting focus and demands.

Detail oriented; care and attention to details.

Emotional maturity: interacts with others in a respectful manner with demonstrated qualities of sincerity, helpfulness, courtesy and humility.

Ethical conduct and responsibility: sets a positive example and fulfills responsibilities with the highest diplomacy of integrity, ethics and professionalism. Must be discreet with sensitive confidential information.

Valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle.
