Completion of ECE Diploma or equivalent experience would be an asset;
Experience in Childcare is required;
Experience in human services, supported housing, or with persons with disabilities/addictions;
Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture;
Must pass Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check;
Class 5 Saskatchewan Driver's License -
Those without a Class 5 Saskatchewan Driver's License need not apply;

Responsibilities:
Work as part of a team to provide childcare & housing support for clients in a flexible, compassionate, and responsible manner;
Maintain a safe, healthy, and compassionate environment protecting the wellbeing of the children;
Plan, provide, and take part in play-based activities that stimulate and support children's intellectual, physical, social, emotional, & language development;
Listening to, encouraging, enabling, stimulating, and ensuring the safekeeping of children;
Provision of refreshments, encouraging healthy eating, and promoting a healthy lifestyle;
Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and outings to local points of interest;
Providing opportunities to express creativity through art, dramatic play, music, & physical activity;
Communicate effectively with parents, other staff members, and management regarding the children in the care of the childminder;
Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers
Duties:
Debrief with staff, review communications board, emails, and log-books when coming on shift;
Review on-call schedule;
Maintain written and computerized records, and compile documentation of your childminding shift;
Be available to respond to client needs and requests where reasonable in a friendly and courteous manner;
Assist with building cleanliness, and cleaning up after each activity with the children/child;
Ensure property security alarms and cameras are on and functional;
Assist Program Staff when requested, to ensure the safety of staff and residents;
Responsible for maintaining clear and concise logs of all unusual occurrences or suspicious activities;
Be familiar with Kindred Spirit emergency procedures;
Respond to accidents, emergencies, and critical incidents, and notify the appropriate authorities & individuals (on-call staff, Supervisor, Manager);
Administer First Aid/CPR as required;
Ensure Incident Reports are completed;
Be available for community members for mentorship and consultations;
Be available for community members for mentorship & consultations;
Assist community members, guests, and employees during emergencies;
Be aware of emergency procedures in the event of the need for building evacuation;
Transport clients following established client transportation policies/protocols;
Provide culturally sensitive outreach, individual case management, and other needed services to clients;
Provide individually tailored services to each client, e.g., housing placement, independent living skills, appointment escorts, home visits, family counselling;
Aid clients in their homes and the community to allow them to participate safely and as independently as possible with dignity and respect;
Assist with building cleanliness & safety;
Must work respectfully within a diverse environment and respect confidentiality;
Hourly checks of client apartments and support the families; needs according to their individual case plans;
Meal preparation as required;
Participate in/plan evening social and cultural events with clients;
Participate in training offered through the organization;
Must follow emergency procedures, safety, and security policies at all times;
Maintain client confidentiality at all times;
Debrief with shift rotation;
All other duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary by management;
