Job Description


Duties Required - Help to build and foster positive relationships between tenants and applicants with Tawaak Housing Association - Preserve a high degree of professional in tenant relations, particularly with regard to confidentiality. - Provide outreach support, navigation, and source wrap around service to tenants of Tawaak Housing Association - Work with families and individuals to promote a supportive community environment for each building. - Develop and facilitate access for tenants to social, occupation, spiritual, financial, residential and supportive programs; - Engage tenants in household management and problem solving to develop tenancy skills; - Provide assistance and resources to tenants experiencing pest management, waste management, hoarding and social issues by engaging in problem solving discussions and offering supportive in the way of an action plan to be completed together in conjunction with Staff; - Report any onsite maintenance, structural, safety concerns with Staff and Management ; - Assist in mediating disputes among tenants by helping tenants with problem solving options. - Respond and access the need of tenants who have self identified or been determined to need additional support and services to ensure their safety, safety of other tenants, and to secure quality of life. Provide findings and feedback to Staff and Management, develop and facilitate an action plan with individual tenants who demonstrate a need for additional services, resources or programs to assist with supporting safe, independent living - Connect tenants with community organizations, resources, and programs. Facilitate meeting times and assist the tenant with travel details ; - Follow up on a scheduled basis with tenants who are currently under an action plan, ensure they are meeting required deadlines and making progress; - Establish a positive working relationship with external agencies and other resources within the community. Provide and share relevant programs with co-workers and tenants; - Document all interactions and conversations with tenants and applicants in Yardi; - Attach and save all relevant documents and actions plans in both electronic and physical tenant file; Service To Be Delivered - Assist participants with completion of rental application forms. - Understand the Residential Tenancies Act and roles and responsibilities of all parties and interpret for tenants. - Understand the Child, Youth and Family Services Act and roles and responsibilities of all parties and interpret for tenants. - Assist applicants and tenants in finding suitable place to live ,in and out of Tawaak Housing and accessing required community supports to access housing. - Assist participants in eviction prevention measures and accessing required community supports to maintain housing. - Maintain date for reporting purposes and maintaining date in Homelessness Individuals and Families Information System (HIFIS ) , where available. - Participate in Coordinated Access Systems, Case Conferencing Tables, or similar case conferencing opportunities to ensure community collaboration and best participant outcomes. - Participate in meetings, training sessions, information sessions about the housing support programs and other associated programming and policies; and, - Develop an outreach for prospective and current tenants, relevant organizations, and landlords. - Develop partnerships with local institution and agencies supporting individuals transitioning out of Health or Corrections facilities. Personal Development - Source relevant training programs to enhance skills required. - Participate in training, seminars, AGM\xe2\x80\x9d s and community group meetings relevant to relationship building - Attend like minded organizations events, Webinars, and informational sessions to stay engaged in current events. - Participate in safety training (First Aid, WHIMIS etc.) and maintain designations. - Set annual training goals to achieve understanding of relevant societal issues to implement into actional items with tenants. Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months Salary: $23.07-$25.64 per hour Expected hours: 37.5 per week Benefits:
