Join the Ts'ixwts'ixwni?tway Member Services Department as a Housing Navigator. This position plays a vital role in supporting Squamish Nation members in securing and maintaining stable housing. Through direct support, advocacy, and collaboration with community partners, the Housing Navigator assists individuals and families facing housing insecurity, connecting them to appropriate resources, subsidies, and sustainable housing options.


This role is ideal for a compassionate, resourceful, and culturally grounded professional who understands the systemic challenges that impact housing stability and is committed to empowering Nation members to achieve long-term housing security.

What You'll Do

Provide housing support and advocacy for Nation members, conducting needs assessments and helping clients navigate rental, subsidy, and band-owned housing opportunities. Collaborate with Hiy?am? Housing, landlords, and housing agencies to expand housing options and ensure successful placements. Address barriers to housing stability, linking clients with employment, financial, and wellness supports across departments and community organizations. Facilitate difficult conversations around tenancy, eviction risks, and financial challenges with empathy and respect, while promoting conflict resolution and accountability. Maintain accurate client records, monitor outcomes, and provide reports to support program improvements. Participate in community engagement initiatives and interdepartmental efforts focused on homelessness prevention and housing security. Contribute positively to the Member Services team and perform related duties as required.

What We're Looking For

Degree in Social Work, Human Services, Community Development, Indigenous Studies, or a related field (equivalent experience may be considered). Experience in housing advocacy, case management, or social services. Experience working with Indigenous communities and knowledge of cultural protocols. Strong understanding of housing systems, rental markets, and subsidy programs (knowledge of Hiy?am? Housing and Residential Tenancy Branch policies is an asset). Training in Conflict Resolution or Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI). Cultural humility and respect for Sk?wx?wu?7mesh values, sovereignty, and self-determination. Demonstrates extensive knowledge of, and strong connection to, the Squamish community.

Salary:

$ 54,000 - $75,500
