About Our Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager, Housing Strategy, the Housing Analyst provides policy leadership, project management, and high-quality analysis to support informed decision-making on the Province\'s Housing priorities.

Primary Accountabilities

As the Housing Analyst on our Housing Strategy team, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Determining research and data requirements and facilitating, leading and/or supervising data-gathering activities;
  • Conducting research and data analysis related to a range of housing initiatives and strategies;
  • Leading and conducting primary research through jurisdictional scans and contact with a broad range of housing program stakeholders and other provinces/territories;
  • Coordinating strategic initiatives based on options and recommendations regarding priorities and emerging issues;
  • Coordinating and preparing clear, accurate, and timely ministerial briefing materials and cabinet submissions, presentations, and other correspondence;
  • Participating in and/or leading work groups on specific issues;
  • Effectively communicating data and complex information to senior department leadership, government, and external stakeholders; and
  • Participating in and/or coordinating program evaluation and reviews to support continuous improvement activities.
Qualifications and Experience

You have successfully completed a Bachelor\'s degree and have at least seven (7) years of related experience; or a Master\'s degree and five (5) years of experience. A Degree in public administration, business, law, or a related discipline would be an asset.

Research, analytical, and presentation skills, as well as organizational and relationship-building skills, are required. You demonstrate an aptitude for understanding and writing complex documentation and have experience with the preparation and presentation of briefing materials. You bring leadership, diplomacy, project management, and communication skills, with a strong focus on equity, diversity, and inclusion; along with strong problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and demands.

Well-developed technical skills in a variety of software applications including Microsoft 365 and Internet applications are required. This position requires high productivity and the ability to work under pressure due to volume and deadlines. You are required to be effective working in a team-orientated environment, and must also have attention to detail and the ability to undertake complex assignments without supervision.

Equivalency

We recognize equivalent combinations of training, education, and experience, providing opportunities for individuals with diverse backgrounds to contribute their skills and expertise. Equivalencies include, but are not limited to:
  • A completed Master\'s degree along with five (5) years of related experience;
  • A related 2-year diploma and 9 years of related experience;
  • Eleven (11) years of total experience.

Working Conditions

Pay Grade: PR 15

Salary Range: $2,746.69 - $3,348.16 Bi-Weekly
