We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated

Casual Housekeeping/Laundry Attendant

to join our team based out of our Long-Term Care Centre at 7404 - 139 Ave NW, Edmonton, Alberta.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Selects materials and supplies from utility and linen supply room, loads service cart and transports to work area. Returns unused supplies to utility room, cleans cart and equipment. Cleans assigned areas by washing furnishings, floors and equipment with designated cleaning solutions and disinfectants. Sweeps, mops, wet washes and vacuums floors. Polishes floors using buffing machine. Empties ashtrays and trash baskets, and disposes of trash. Scours and polishes sinks, tubs, mirrors and similar equipment, replenishing dispensable items. Dusts window sills blinds, floors and furniture. Cleans equipment such as mops, buckets, vacuum cleaner and utility cart. Strips, cleans, seals and polishes the floors. Porter equipment and supplies as directed. Promotes and maintains appropriate and effective communication with other staff and Residents. Ensures that equipment, procedures and activities are conducive to a safe environment for Residents, staff, volunteers and visitors. Reports unsafe conditions promptly to his/her immediate supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

A minimum grade 12 education is required. A minimum of one year experience as a Housekeeping Laundry Attendant is required.

SPECIAL SKILLS:

Good communication and interpersonal skills are required. Knowledge of the English language is required and knowledge of the Ukrainian of other Slavic languages is an asset. Individual must be physically and mentally fit to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.
