Housekeeping Supervisor

to lead our team in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and efficiency.

Supervise the operations of the housekeeping staff promoting a safe environment and quality service to achieve maximum guest satisfaction, protection of assets and minimal expenses. Work with the General Manager to ensure the efficient and cost-effective running of the department, achieving the standards of cleanliness and guest care.

Main Duties:



1.

Supervise the housekeeping staff; providing open communication, training, coaching and counselling and providing performance feedback to ensure maximum efficiency.

2.

Supervise and inspect the cleaning of the guest rooms, turndown service, public areas and back of the house; ensure compliance with accident/loss prevention programs, health/sanitation standards and regulations to achieve a high level of cleanliness and guest satisfaction.

3.

Issue assignments to staff reviewing special requests and areas of concentration to ensure a smooth flow of the housekeeping operation.

4.

Issue supplies/goods to staff at beginning of shift in order to control inventory and ensure proper supplies are available while controlling expenses.

5.

Respond to guest requests, concerns and problems to ensure guest satisfaction.

6.

Log items into the Lost and Found and answer inquires to maintain controls and ensure guest satisfaction.

7.

Liaise with Guest Services and Maintenance regarding "ready" rooms ensuring guest requirements are met.

8.

Ensure the correct handling of guest laundry, staff uniforms and lost and found.

9.

Perform daily inspections of bedrooms/public areas and designated staff areas maintaining property standards.

10.

Ensure the safe storage, issue and effective use of cleaning materials and equipment.

11. Ensure proper completion of housekeeping forms/reports.

12.

Assist in planning/checking of deep cleaning duties as required.

13.

Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.

. Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES



1.

Working knowledge of the use of laundry chemicals and different formulas, as well as effects on various types of linen.

2

. Ability to lift, bend, stoop, push or pull heavy loads, and stand for long periods of time.

3.

Ability to push and/or pull wheeled carts weighing up to 100 pounds.

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES



1.

To take responsibility for the department in the absence of the Housekeeping Manager.

2.

Greet or acknowledge all guests employing the Ten Foot Rule.

3.

To perform any reasonable request.

4.

To be competent in the scheduling of staff and forecasting of revenue and expenses.

5.

To assist in hiring, orientation, training, appraisal and discipline of the Housekeeping team.

6.

To adhere and enforce all matters relating to hygiene, health, safety, emergency procedures and the Property Crisis Communication Plan.

7.

To demonstrate commitment to guest satisfaction.

8.

To ensure completion of all duties relating to each shift in accordance with daily checklists.

9.

To achieve effective communication with team members, assisting at department meetings and maintaining positive communication with other departments.

10.

To contribute ideas to assist in the welfare and motivation of department staff.

11.

To prioritize and assign duties, perform shift duties and aid the Housekeeping team.

12.

To perform month end/year end tasks.

13.

To ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures.

14.

To contribute to the security of the building, company assets and guest/coworker safety by ensuring full adherence to security procedures with proper handling of keys as appropriate.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $16.50-$17.00 per hour
