Metis Nation - Saskatchewan (MN-S) is seeking a dedicated team player committed to delivering high-quality service to support the objectives of MN-S and will provide a range of services as housekeeping personnel.
MN-S is seeking dedicated and detail-oriented housekeeping staff to join our team at a new 30-unit building located in downtown Saskatoon, which is designed to accommodate Metis Citizens travelling to Saskatoon for medical appointments and other needs.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of guest rooms and common areas to ensure an exceptional guest experience. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, efficiency, and a commitment to providing superior service.
Key Responsibilities:
Guest Room Cleaning: Clean and sanitize guest rooms, including making beds, dusting furniture, vacuuming floors, and cleaning bathrooms. Ensure all rooms are in pristine condition for guests.
Common Area Cleaning: Maintain the cleanliness and order of building common areas such as lobbies, hallways, and restrooms.
Stock and Supplies: Monitor and replenish housekeeping supplies and amenities as needed. Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards.
Guest Requests: Respond to front desk or guest requests promptly and courteously.
Documentation: Documentation of all cleaning checklists, maintenance issues and safety issues within the software system.
Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety and hygiene standards and protocols. Ensure compliance with hotel policies and procedures. Address and resolve any concerns or issues related to housekeeping.
Other custodial duties as assigned by the Operations Manager.
Qualifications
High school diploma and/or equivalent education
Previous 2-year custodial, housekeeping, cleaning, or hotel experience is preferred
Knowledge and Skills:
Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
Knowledge of Metis culture
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Physically able to perform general cleaning tasks involving squatting, twisting, bending, and kneeling.
Working knowledge of the housekeeping methods, techniques, and materials.
Ability to work with software systems (Microsoft/ housekeeping software).
Ability to work alone and independently.
Physical capability of climbing ladders and working from heights.
Familiar with operating, caring for, and storing custodial equipment and supplies.
Trustworthy and reliable.
Strong communication skills.
Additional Information:
Valid Saskatchewan driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
Must undergo a Criminal Record Check with the Vulnerable Sector.
