About the Role:



As a

Housekeeping Aide

, you will play a key role in ensuring a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our residents, their families, and our staff. Working collaboratively with the Environmental Services team, you will follow best practices to ensure all personal and communal areas meet or exceed regulatory and internal cleanliness standards. This position requires availability for varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Key Responsibilities:Resident Housekeeping:



Clean and maintain resident suites, including dusting, mopping, vacuuming, disinfecting, and polishing surfaces Sanitize bathrooms, change linens, and replenish hygiene supplies Prepare rooms for new residents following infection control protocols Handle residents' furnishings with care and respect privacy during cleaning

Common Areas & Grounds:



Maintain hallways, lounges, dining areas, offices, and other public spaces Vacuum carpets, scrub/buff hard flooring, and manage seasonal outdoor upkeep including snow removal and salting Move furniture for cleaning or event setup as needed

Teamwork & Communication:



Support and cooperate with team members to ensure high service standards Maintain a dependable attendance record and demonstrate flexibility Communicate professionally across departments and with residents/families

Customer Service:



Respond courteously to resident and family concerns Promote dignity, safety, and respect in all interactions Report any safety or resident health concerns to the appropriate staff

Health & Safety:



Follow infection prevention and control protocols Participate in safety programs including fire prevention and WHMIS Use equipment and chemicals safely and appropriately

Qualifications:



High school diploma preferred Prior housekeeping or laundry experience in a healthcare or hospitality setting is an asset Fluent in English with strong communication skills Physically capable of performing all assigned duties Dependable and professional in appearance and behavior Able to work varied shifts including evenings, weekends, holidays, and call-ins Compliant with AON's immunization and infection control policies
