The Housekeeper/Housekeeping Manager plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of the facility. This position involves performing housekeeping duties and overseeing the housekeeping staff. The ideal candidate is hands-on, has a strong background in hospitality and cleaning management, with strong attention to detail and leadership skills.
Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate daily housekeeping operations, including scheduling staff and assigning tasks.
Train, mentor, and evaluate housekeeping staff to promote a high level of performance and professionalism.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless service delivery across the facility.
Develop and implement cleaning procedures and protocols that align with industry best practices.
Maintain records related to housekeeping operations, including staff schedules, inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, and inspection reports.
Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to ensure cleanliness and reporting any maintenance needs.
And perform all duties of a housekeeper, including:
- Vacuuming and Mopping the floor
- Dusting and Sanitizing the surfaces
- Cleaning and Disinfecting bathrooms
- Doing laundry, Ironing sheets and linens
- Making beds and Changing sheets
- Waxing and Polishing furniture and floors
- And performing other related duties as assigned
Skills
Proven experience in hotel or hospitality settings with a strong understanding of housekeeping operations.
Knowledge of cleaning techniques and custodial best practices.
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness standards.
Effective communication skills for interacting with guests, staff, and management.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
