Accountability:
u The housekeepers report directly to the Administrator or delegate.
Shift commences at 7:00am
u Check with Administrator to determine if information was left by other side with regards to housekeeping
u Check and clean public washrooms and stock if necessary, if applicable.
u Begin cleaning resident rooms as per schedule, removing laundry per Administrative schedule.
Light Room Clean:
u Empty garbage
u Tidy room and make bed
u Clean bathroom, mirror, including sink and toilet sanitizing
u Remove all soiled laundry if it is the residents scheduled day for laundry or they have an understanding that additional laundry carries additional charges
Deep Room Clean:
u Change linens in rooms
u Empty garbage
u Tidy room ensuring personal laundry is put away if laundry day
u Empty and clean, sanitize commode as necessary
u Thorough cleaning of bathroom, including scrubbing shower stall, rinse, sanitizing toilet and sink, and all touch points, mop floor
u Dust furniture and vacuum carpet, including under bed
u Dust baseboards, blinds, shelves and all light fixtures
u Remove soiled towels and replace towels with clean
u Spray room deodorizer as necessary
u Remove any soiled clothing or soiled protective underwear to avoid odors
u Make all beds
General Job Duties and Responsibilities:
u Check all empty, respite and/or show rooms to ensure they are presentable and clean as is required- minimum dust daily
u Clean elevators daily as necessary
u Empty butt cans in front and back of building daily
u Check supplies to ensure none are needed to be ordered (report to administrator)
u Clean housekeeping cart and restock as necessary from supply room prior to shift ending
u Tidy all supply closets
u Record all inventory drawn daily and recount all HK inventory on the last day of every month
u Ensure door to housekeeping room is kept locked at all times
u Ensure housekeeping cart and chemicals are not left unattended
u Prepare cleaning cart ensuring all chemicals are labeled correctly and supplies are present
u All other duties as required
u Steam clean suites as per pest control procedures based on Administrator schedule
Other information and expectations of this position:
This is a full-time, 7.5 hour paid shift.
As a member of the Abington Court staff, you will participate in continuing education, relevant to Retirement Homes Act and Regulations to ensure your skills and abilities are maintained, enhanced and that the Act is followed by all employees.
