Housekeeper

Founded in 1970, Steele Hotels is an independent hotel operator based out of Newfoundland and Labrador Canada. With origins in Gander, NL the company has grown to include 8 properties located in St. John's, NL, Corner Brook, NL, and Fredericton, NB.

Steele Hotels is looking for a

Housekeeper

to join its growing team at our JAG Hotel in St. John's, NL. The ideal candidate would possess a positive "can-do" attitude, and a high level of professionalism, coupled with a strong work ethic and critical thinking skills. This often involves working in fast-paced environment conditions at varying times throughout the day or evening.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

:

Clean, sanitize, and maintain assigned areas, including hotel rooms and bathrooms, following cleaning protocols Dust furniture, sweep and mop floors, vacuum carpets, and clean windows Change bed linens and towels, checking for any wear, tear, or stains, replacing with clean linens and towels Empty trash and dispose of waste properly Replenish essential supplies such as toiletries, towels, and cleaning products in guest rooms and on carts, maintaining the appropriate inventory levels and guest comfort Handle and use cleaning chemicals and refill cleaning supplies according to safety guidelines Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the Supervisor Demonstrate a professional and positive presentation to guests and colleagues and be well groomed Complete cross-training in laundry to support housekeeping operations Perform other duties, as assigned

Qualifications, Skills & Attributes:

Previous experience as a housekeeper or similar role is preferred Provide a clear Criminal Record Screening Certificate Knowledge of cleaning techniques and equipment Attention to detail and thoroughness in completing tasks Good physical stamina to handle repetitive tasks and move/lift objects up to 30lbs, when necessary Ability to handle difficult situations with patience and professionalism Ability to work independently, follow instructions, and work well under pressure Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively
