Job Context:
Responsible for the proper cleanliness of the building's common areas. The Housekeeper is responsible for cleaning which includes, but is not limited to, vacuuming carpets, cleaning linoleum floors, cleaning bathrooms, light dusting and washing windows. Accountabilities:
Follow daily cleaning guidelines as established by management.
Treat resident information as confidential material and only share confidential information with the appropriate contact.
Clean all areas of the building with supervisor's direction.
Clean guest suite when needed.
Perform minor maintenance duties required to effectively clean.
Ensure quality control.
Take initiative complete non-scheduled duties when time permits.
Abide by Policies and Procedures of LutherCare Communities
Complete other job-related tasks as assigned by the Supervisor.
Position Status:
Permanent, Full-Time
Qualifications:
Grade 10, Grade 12 preferred
WHMIS training is required within three months of employment.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
Ability to operate all housekeeping equipment (vacuum, cleaning supplies, chemicals, etc.)
Ability to work unsupervised.
Ability to perform minor maintenance duties required to effectively clean (ie: changing light bulbs, removing blinds, taking on and off doorknobs, etc.
Good organizational skills
Good interpersonal skills in communication and human relations
Physically able to perform the work assigned.
Knowledge of WHMIS legislation and ability to properly label chemicals.
Knowledge of fire procedures
Knowledge of safe and proper cleaning and supplies and techniques
Experience:
Previous housekeeping experience preferred.
Experience working with seniors an asset.
