WHO ARE WE?

We're Saintlo, a collective of hostels across Quebec and Ontario with a local twist. Our mission: help travellers explore like locals, connect with people from around the world, and grow the nomad community. We believe in open-mindedness, kindness, and solidarity as a better way to travel.

YOUR WORKPLACE

This is no ordinary cleaning job -- you'll be working in one of Ottawa's most unique landmarks. Our hostel has been welcoming travellers for 50 years, but for the 100 years before that, it was... a jail. Yes, really. While we've added modern comforts, the original stone walls and iron doors remain, making it a truly unforgettable setting for both staff and guests.

YOUR ROLE

As a housekeeping attendant, you'll be the hero behind the scenes, keeping everything spotless and welcoming. From sparkling rooms to tidy common areas, your work makes every guest feel comfortable and cared for.

MORE SPECIFICALLY, YOU WILL:

Clean and reset guest rooms, bathrooms, and common areas. Apply cleaning procedures that meet our quality standards. Dust, vacuum, wash mirrors, change linens, and tidy furniture. Empty recycling, compost, and garbage bins. Refill supplies and manage cleaning inventory. Report any repairs or maintenance needs. Keep track of lost & found items. Help with breakfast preparation and refills. Support your teammates with other related tasks.

YOU'RE THE PERFECT FIT IF:

You enjoy helping others and delivering great service. You're in good physical shape and can handle a hands-on role. You work well both independently and in a team. You're detail-oriented and reliable. You manage stress calmly and stay organized. You're dynamic, discreet, and take initiative. You're available for evenings and weekends (depending on season). You have strong English skills (other languages are a plus). Experience in hospitality/housekeeping is an asset -- but not required.
