We are looking for a
full-time Housekeeper
to add to our team. This position is for our
Nova Inn Yellowknife
location at
4401-50 Avenue, Yellowknife NWT
.
Primary Functions:
Reporting to the
Executive Housekeeper
, the Housekeeper is responsible for ensuring that guest rooms and public areas are cleaned and maintained to the highest standard of cleanliness and guest satisfaction.
Responsibilities and Essential Duties (including but not limited to):
Clean and service guest rooms and public areas in accordance with hotel standards and procedures.
Replace linens, towels, and guest amenities daily.
Dust, vacuum, mop floors, clean windows, and sanitize bathrooms.
Report any damages, maintenance issues, or missing items to the Executive Housekeeper promptly.
Restock housekeeping carts and storage areas with supplies.
Follow all Health & Safety, sanitation, and chemical handling guidelines.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of housekeeping closets and equipment.
Assist with laundry duties as required.
Remove trash, recyclables, and dirty linen.
Observe and practice a high standard of cleanliness and promote safety at all times.
Ensure all lost and found items are properly recorded and turned in.
Provide exceptional guest service at all times and respond promptly to guest requests.
Report all concerns related to Maintenance, Health and Safety, Security, or suspicious activity to the appropriate leader.
Adhere to all Nova Hotels standards, including hygiene, grooming, health and safety, and fire safety.
Other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, and Salary:
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
Must speak fluent English.
Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
1 year of housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred, ideally in a hospitality setting.
Wage
:
$17.50 per hour.
Job Specifications and Skills:
Able to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain quality standards.
Physically fit and able to lift up to 25 lbs, bend, kneel, and stand for long periods.
Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and a positive attitude.
Dependable, punctual, and flexible to work various shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Follow directions, takes responsibility for own actions, and contributes to team success.
Demonstrate good time management, prioritization, and organizational skills.
Language and Communication Skills: Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English.
Physical Demands:
Lifting - Under 25 lbs 50% of work time
Carrying - Over 25 lbs 10% of work time
Bending, standing, reaching, and kneeling throughout shift.
Work Environment:
Hotel setting with moderate noise levels, frequent guest interaction, and exposure to cleaning chemicals. May involve working in confined spaces and around moving equipment (vacuums, carts, etc.).
